"Enjoy live music from The Father and Son Duo, delicious food by The Village Caterer, and an exciting silent auction, all while sharing a night full of fun, laughter, and community spirit. Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of music, great food, and great company."

Mike's been doing this each year for over a decade and it's a superb initiative!

"In late April of 2014, Mike Farwell sent out a tweet with the hashtag #Farwell4Hire, and a fundraising campaign was born. He was offering to do whatever was asked of him, as long as the person asking was willing to donate to cystic fibrosis in exchange for Mike’s “work.” Along with continuing his full-time job as a radio host, Mike performed dozens of “for hire” tasks and raised more than $20,000 in a month – more than twice his previous highest fundraising total."

FOOD & DRINK IN THE REGION

Vincenzo's | 150 Caroline Street, Waterloo | 4.7 stars across 3,499 Google reviews

"Local products from around the world. Our bustling old world market feel promises impeccable food in every aisle. It's exciting to want better meals made with better foods. The old world has been doing this for generations and we continue that tradition every chance we can."

I absolutely love Vincenzo's. They have so many great options in their cafe, along with the BEST sandwiches that you can custom make with a variety of tasty ingredients.

And the main portion of the store is filled to the brim with gourmet groceries and some amazing local goods.

I'd recommend you go in to grab some lunch, and have a walk around first to see what types of amazing food & drink items they have available for purchase.

And as always, don't just take my word. Here's a raving, 5 star google review from Eliz two months ago:

"Vincenzo’s is our go to for all things gourmet, artisanal, and Italian. Whether we’re grabbing specialty ingredients, picking up lunch, or treating ourselves to something sweet, it never disappoints. Their sandwiches are some of the best in the region, the gelato is incredible, and you absolutely cannot leave without a Café Freddo. Everything feels authentic, high quality, and thoughtfully curated. They are truly a KW staple and one of those local spots that has stood the test of time for good reason. We’re so lucky to have them in our community."

QUESTION OF THE WEEK

What are you looking forward to most this summer? 😎

Hit reply to this message to let me know and I'll share some of the best responses next week!

RANDOM FACTS OF THE DAY

Hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backwards. They can also hover and fly upside down thanks to their unique wing structure.

It’s illegal to own just one guinea pig in Switzerland. They’re highly social, so the law requires them to have at least one friend.

Your fingers have zero muscles in them. All the movement comes from muscles in your forearms and palms connected by tendons.

THANK YOU!

Hope you have the best day and we'll be back Thursday. 🐝
