FOOD & DRINK IN THE REGION βGrain of Salt | 561 Hespeler Rd, Cambridge I absolutely love Indian food, and I've only ever heard great things about the Grain of Salt in Cambridge. "Experience a perfection of natural spices with a taste of the divine food from a Grain of Salt. Grain Of Salt has earned a name synonymous with quality food, great hospitality and service. The addictive food of India is brought to you in a classic style for your dining pleasure. This style of cuisine has been catered to India since Moghal Imperial times." Here's a raving, 5 star google review from a very excited Michael a couple of weeks ago: "Some of the best Indian food on the planet. I've traveled the world and outside of India this is the VERY BEST. Love to hear it! You can check out their menu here - and let me know what you think. * this is not a sponsored placement. ads will always be made obvious if so. CHRISTMAS LIGHT DISPLAYS AROUND THE REGION One of my favourite things to do around the holiday season when I was younger.. was to drive around (or I suppose be driven around, thank you parents!) and see all the different light displays either at parks or houses that went all out "Griswold style". So I thought it'd be fun to list some of the best local displays below! Let me know if I'm missing any and will make sure to include those in a future newsletter.
I've also been looking around for an interactive map for the region on where cool light displays are, but haven't found anything for 2025 yet. Let me know if you've come across this and/or reply back if there's certain areas or houses you'd recommend. QUESTION OF THE WEEK Last week's question was: What's your favourite event, tradition or 'must do' each holiday season? π Sharing some of the replies below! "My favourite tradition is Christmas Eve we have a lasagna cook off. We have a large family so it's easy and laid back!" - Shelby "Fav holiday event? Back to back rock shows with Steve Strongman and Rob Szaboβs annual show at Room 47 on December 19th, and JJ Wildeβs annual show at Maxwellβs December 20th." - Anthony "Christmas markets! I love walking around all the different stalls with a hot chocolate and seeing what they've got for sale. Plus, there's so many to choose from." - Grace RANDOM FACTS OF THE DAY National Pride: Canada consumes more macaroni and cheese (specifically Kraft Dinner) per capita than any other country in the world. Aquatic Skills: Sloths can hold their breath for up to 40 minutes underwater, which is longer than dolphins (who usually need air after about 10 minutes). Gaming History: Nintendo was founded in 1889. Before video games, they started as a company that made traditional Japanese playing cards featuring beautiful floral designs. THANK YOU! Hope you're having an awesome day and we'll see you Thursday. π ps. I'd love your feedback. Whether it's something you like, or hate, or want to see more/less of - please let me know! And in a local twist, Jeremy Hansen from London, Ontario is one of the four...
